Thai food is one of my favourite cuisines and that’s exactly one of the reasons why we came to the bustling city of Bangkok, Thailand’s capital. One of the top culinary hotspots in Bangkok is along Yaowarat Road, commonly known as city’s Chinatown for its array of businesses and restaurants owned by descendants of Chinese immigrants. Over the years they have mixed their Chinese recipes with local flavours, creating some unique dishes that have received some of the highest accolades in the culinary world. In the second part of my food tour around Yaowarat Road, I will show you guys 4 more cheap and delicious places to eat and their signature dishes!

1. Nai Mong Hoi Thod
Hoi thod is the name for Thai’s version of oyster omelette, a Malaysian dish known locally their as oh chien. This restaurant specialises in hoi thod so well that they have earned a Bib Gourmand from Michelin Guide, which recognises restaurants that serve “exceptionally good food at moderate prices”

2. Hua Seng Hong Chinese Dim Sums
Stopping at this classic Chinese restaurant was totally unplanned, but you should definitely try their dim sum menu which has many items that you generally won’t find in other Chinese restaurants! Not saying they are all good, but you can never be too adventurous when it comes to eating 😛

3. Texas Boat Noodles
While Chinatown is not THE place to have boat noodles in Bangkok (don’t worry another video is coming!), if you’d like to try this classic Thai dish then this place is probably your best bet on Yaowarat Road! Expect a tonne of choices when it comes to the noodles plus a rich and flavourful pork broth

4. Trok Rong Moo Tom Yum Noodle Soup
Situated on a historic alleyway, this noodle shop specialises noodles with only 6 items on their menu. However, their signature dish is the tom yum noodle soup, which despite its relatively benign appearance, packs a lot of heat!
